Dedicated to the memory of Dr Daphne Wallace

This site is a tribute to my mum, Dr Daphne Wallace, who passed away peacefully on 23rd December 2020. My mums commitment throughout her working life was to improve care for people living with Dementia. This became even more important when she was diagnosed with Dementia herself in 2005. Despite her diagnosis she continued with her work sharing both personal and professional perspectives to continue to contribute to research and awareness, literally until she was no longer able. Her last wish was to donate to Brains for Dementia Research. With her dedication driving us on, this procedure took place on Christmas Eve. A real priviledge to ensure her dying wish was fulfilled.

As we all know 2020 has been the strangest of years with challenges for all of us, in so many ways. Mum did not succumb to Covid-19. Instead, true to character, she fell whilst keeping herself busy and active and broke her hip. The subsequent surgery and recovery proved too much for her.

As Covid-19 is limiting those who can come to my mums funeral, I am setting this up for anyone who wants to make any contribution in lieu, and there is nothing more apt as we lay her to rest.

Mum, thank you for being the amazing woman you are, we love you and you will always be remembered. Rest In Peace xxx
